Why do you personally read the bible?

Wrong mindsets about bible reading:

1. Knowing the bible gives you eternal life ...  John 5:39-40
2. It is outdated ... Hebrews 4:12
3. The Bible isn't sufficient by itself ... 2 Peter 1:3
4. Things happen instantly ... 1 Corinthians 9:24-27

Nothing is more important than having the scriptures impact all three areas of your being.  This includes your Head, Heart, and Hands.

Read the bible to mature into Christ.

If scripture is impacting your head, heart, and hands, you are becoming more like Jesus as you read the scriptures.  You are maturing in to Christ.  All areas are being molded.
